Lenora Gill will always be remembered as a strong woman with great family values. Lenora was fun to be with; she was sociable, optimistic, caring, always ready to help others, had a good sense of humor, and a good outlook on life.
Her parents were Orville and Mary Presley. Lenora was the oldest of seven children, her siblings were: Bruce, Bob, Larry, Roger, Margie, and Dennis.
Lenora was born on September 5, 1930 in Pasadena, California where she attended elementary school then relocated to Sanger, California where she attended Sanger High School, graduating in 1949.
It was in high school where she met the love of her life, Peter Gill. They were married on March 17, 1951 and eventually moved to Fresno, California.
Lenora was blessed with two children: Randall Carter and Alyson Lyn. She took on the role as a homemaker and provided an excellent home for her family which she was very proud of.
Some of her hobbies included baking, sewing, crossword puzzles, and watching the 49ers on television. For a while she enjoyed bowling, to the point that she joined a bowling league and was on the “Shaver Lake Broads” bowling team. She ALWAYS enjoyed the family get togethers.
Once her children were in their teens she went to work. With a strong work ethic she was employed at K-Mart for 20 years as a retail clerk, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed her retirement and looked forward to vacations on the coast.
Lenora fought a brave battle against cancer and passed away on January 4, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Peter Gill; daughter Alyson Claybaugh; and son in law Jim Claybaugh.
Visitation was held at Tinkler Funeral Chapel & Crematory, funeral service was held at Northwest Church. Lenora was laid to rest in Belmont Memorial Gardens in Fresno, California.
