Lois Freeman, 96, of Fresno California passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, at her granddaughter’s home in American Falls Idaho with loving family by her side.
Lois was born in Hawthorne, California, and spent her early years in Englewood. Sometime during her freshman year of high school, the family moved to Blythe California. There, Lois graduated from Palo Verde High and soon after married the love of her life, Thomas Lesley Freeman. Together, they raised five children – Bob, Ralph, Steve, LaRee, and Donald – building a home filled with faith, love, and lots of music.
Lois was a dedicated mother and homemaker, also keeping the books for the family business, Freeman Electric. When her boys discovered electric guitars and rock and roll, Lois became their biggest cheerleader. She encouraged their developing talents, loved attending their gigs and took great pride in their accomplishments.
Lois was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings during her life. One of her favorite callings was teaching children in Sunday School. She especially loved teaching the five year olds, often commenting on their eagerness to learn, their bright curiosity, and the way their eyes lit up when something new finally “clicked.” Those moments brought her real joy. In her later years, Lois and Tom served two missions for their church in the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission where they served in leadership roles and made many wonderful friends.
Lois leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, faith, and family. She created a home where her children felt safe, supported, and encouraged to grow in their own strengths. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ blessed and strengthened three generations of children and continues to do so. Though She will be dearly missed, we rejoice in the love, the faith, and the quiet strength she left with each of us.
A Graveside Service will be held at Clovis Cemetery District, 305 N. Villa Ave., Clovis, California, on October 16, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
