He grew up in Kerman, CA, where he enjoyed sports and racing his pony with his friend. Louie was good at football, playing for the Kerman High School team. Upon graduation in 1951, he went on to attend Coalinga Junior College. Louie joined the United States Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the service, Louie became a truck driver for over 50 years. He was also in the Teamster Union for 27 years. Louie was a devoted family man and enjoyed working in his yard.
Louie was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Salazar; his second wife, Mary Alice Seaman Salazar; and his daughter, Annette Salazar.
He is survived by his sons, Ronald Salazar and wife Rebecca, and Eric Salazar and wife Natalie; and step-sister, Mary Ramirez Teixeira. Louie also leaves behind his grandchildren, Chase Salazar, Alexia Sales and husband Ryan, Kinsley Kukowski, Grayson Salazar and Christina Jimenez and husband Santiago; and five great-grandchildren, Ari and Esther Sales, and Maya, Sienna, and Havana Jimenez.
A Memorial service will be held at Palm La Paz Funeral Home on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. A Celebration of his Life will follow at the Selma Portuguese Hall.
