June 8, 1923 - March 23, 2018
Luci was born on June 8, 1923 to James and Florence Costa in Chicago, IL. She married Marshall Edward Sparesus on May 25th, 1945. Together they raised their family for over 50 years in Schiller Park, IL before retiring to the lake in Antioch, IL.
In her later years she enjoyed living with her daughter in Fresno, CA.
She is survived by her son Marshall E. Sparesus Jr. (Brenda) Fresno, CA, and daughter Sandra Jean Sparesus Killian (Wendell Ross) Fresno, CA. Grandchildren; Marshall E. Sparesus III “Guy” (Angela) IL, Marcia J. Pisani (Jason) WI, and Andrew J. Rayniak (Stephanie) TN. As well as 6 Great-grandchildren; Sonnie, Adrina, Leah, Vivian, Ashley and Payton.
Luci was preceded in death by her daughter June Marie Rayniak in 1978, as well as her husband Marsh in 2007.
Luci had a generous heart and loved animals, especially her dogs. She enjoyed bouncing her great-grandchildren on her knee while singing silly songs and was known for always wearing the color red. Luci loved entertaining and cooking big Italian meals for her friends and family.
The family would like to thank Nancy Hinds the staff and doctors at Hinds Hospice for the wonderful care that they provided.
Services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church at 11:00 am followed by interment at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
