

Lupe worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Lupe was blessed with two children, one son, Brandon and one daughter, Nichole (oldest). Another blessing for Lupe was the gift of nine grandchildren, Myshell, Desiree, Brandon, Alyssa, Casey, Trinity, Sabrina, Emily, and David.
Fortunately, Lupe enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Lupe worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was with the City of Fresno Parks and Recreation Department. She was employed for twenty plus years. Lupe always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Lupe enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were reading, sewing, cooking, crocheting, ceramics and gambling. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Lupe found pleasure in sports. In high school, Lupe played Powder Puff Football. Lupe was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so. Tops on her list were football and golf.
Throughout her life, Lupe was a doer and was always actively involved in professional and community organizations. Throughout her later years, Lupe was an active member of the St. Alphonsus Sunday Bingo as a volunteer.
Lupe’s faith was important to her. She was a member of Mount Carmel. During her teenage years, she was an office assistant.
Lupe enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included Dinkey Creek, Morro Bay, Pismo, Oregon, Washington and Canada.
Lupe was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was Cow a Chihuahua-Terrier mix. They were best friends for 8 years.
When Lupe’s retirement finally arrived in 2008, she was well prepared. In retirement, she found new pleasure in gambling on weekends with her husband. Even in retirement, Lupe continued to stay in touch with her old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Lupe was active in her new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered her.
Lupe passed away on February 16, 2011 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fresno, California. Lupe fought a brave battle against diabetes, kidney failure and heart problems. She is survived by her parents Rudy and Emily, her brothers Raymond, Henry, and Rudy Jr., her husband, Jerry, her children Nichole and Brandon, her grandchildren, Myshell, Desiree, Brandon, Alyssa, Casey, Trinity, Sabrina, Emily and David. Services were held at Tinkler Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Lupe was laid to rest in Fresno, California.
Simply stated, Lupe was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Lupe leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Lupe Ramos.
