Lydia Spomer Weber was born October 31, 1918 in Dinuba, California. She grew up on a ranch with her father, Pete Spomer, mother Susana Katrina Spomer, five older brothers, and three sisters. She met her husband, Reinhold Boas Weber, at church. They moved to Fresno, where their children Kathleen Ellen and Douglas Duane were born. RB worked at Bank of America and subsequently became a bank manager. Lydia was executive secretary to Rutter Armey. They were committed Christians, active believers, attending Belmont Christian Church, bringing lots of neighborhood children to church with them in their station wagon. After RB's death at age 63, Lydia retired, and became an active traveler, bridge player, and loved the slots. She was always right there for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was famous for her birthday “goody boxes” she made for each child, with wrapped Twinkies, Ho-Ho's, Oreos, soda pop, all the junk food their parents usually would not let them have. She was the taxi driver, the shopper, the helper, the cook, the praying grandma, the gift giver, the encourager. Her mind was sharp until age 93; her driving skills intact. She gave up her keys, with loud complaints. Needing more help with meals and assistance, she moved to Fine Care Residence in 2012. She knew Jesus, loved sacred music, and was comfortable with the thought of death, and going to heaven to be reunited with her husband and family. She died peacefully at home on April 19, 2014.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Ellen Weber Hinton and her husband Phil, Douglas Duane Weber and his wife Stephanie, grandchildren Susanna Lee Hinton Berna and her husband Todd, Samuel Peter Hinton and his wife Dawn, Stephen Philip Hinton, Kristin Noel Weber, Kelly Marie Weber Ashe, Joshua Reinhold Weber and his wife Kindra, and great grandchildren Wesley Hinton, Maxwell Hinton, Lyla Hinton, John Riley Weirather, Jack Weirather, Wyatt Ashe, Mallory Ashe, Katy Berna, and Kenny Berna, her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Spomer Collins, brother-in-law Allen Robinson, sister-in-law Ann Spomer, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
