Lynette “Jill” Polanco, age 52, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019, where she was surrounded by her family and friends.

Jill was born on September 15, 1966 and attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and San Joaquin Memorial High School where she was a multi-sport athlete. Jill earned a full scholarship to attend California State University, Fresno where she played softball as a starting center fielder. She graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor’s Degree and earned a Master’s Degree in Criminology. She went to work for Pacific Gas & Electric Company where she promoted through the ranks during her 29 year career as a Senior Claims Investigator for the Law Department.

Jill's family, friends and her Golden Labrador "Ayla" were her joy. She loved when all would join her at her cabin where they enjoyed the outdoors. Jill’s laughter was contagious, instantly making anyone around smile or want to join in. She would often host the entire family and extended family for holidays and gatherings (with Mariachis, of course), always being overly generous with all she had to those she loved. Jill had a beautiful soul; full of kindness, grace, and love for all those she knew and those who knew her. Jill was incredibly independent, loyal, successful and beyond beautiful in so many ways; she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her mother, Eva Polanco; father, Henry Polanco; brother, Tony and his wife, Janet; sister, Annette Grieser and her husband, Tom; sister, Debbie Martinez and her husband, Gary; nephews and nieces, David Polanco, Michele Martinez, Michael Martinez, Nicholas Martinez, Brandon Martinez, Gabrielle Grieser, and Zachary Grieser, and numerous cousins, and dear friends.

I was Jill's co-worker at PG&E and I work in the San Ramon office. I remember Jill having a sweet smile and girly giggle. We laughed a few times together. It warms my heart to think about those precious moments. I enjoyed her very much. She was the consummate professional and the true leader at the Fresno office. I will truly miss her sense of humor, smile and camaraderie. I send my condolences and deepest sympathy to the family.

I am totally without words to express the shock and sorrow and the saddness of loosing the brightness and joy that was Jill.

However, there just aren't enough words to express the joy and happiness and fun and laughter and treasured moments I was blessed with by knowing Jill and having the honor and the privilage of being able to call her my friend. It is these happy memories that I will focus on and treasure until my time comes to join her.

God Bless Lynette Jill Polanco.

The earth lost a strong, compassionate, loving, bright, fun-loving person.... I lost a friend who was loyal and loving. My heart goes out to everyone that feels this loss. The love she had for all her family and friends will be the force that helps us through this dimmed road. I know she is happy and at peace , and brightening up heaven!
You still bring a smile to my face...especially when you Insisted on pronouncing my name Susanne instead of Susan...we had fun with all our mini adventures... I will Love you forever and will miss you beyond measure.

Family, I’m deeply sorry for your great loss. I’m still in shock myself.

During the 20 years we worked together, we had some great times traveling, laughing, sitting in boring work meetings, telling stories. She loved you all so very much. She always wanted to do wonderful things with her Mother Dear...mariachi parties, vacations, surprise fun.

Please hang onto those beautiful memories. As will I.

May God bless you all and give you peace and comfort through all of this. I’m praying for you all.

To Jill’s family and friends, I am so sorry to learn of Jill’s passing. It’s been a long time since I’ve talked with Jill but the memories I have were such fun times fishing, playing cards and a few dinner gatherings. I hope you find comfort knowing she is with our Lord in Heaven, the most beautiful place we all hope to be together again someday. Though she has left this earth, she’ll always be with you in spirit. Prayers for God’s blessings as you walk this difficult time.
