Manny was born to Anastacio and Carlota Rojas on August 21, 931 in Claremont Ca. In 1951, after graduating from C.O.S., he enlisted in the US Army. Manny completed basic training in Fort Ord and paratrooper training in Fort Benning, Georgia. In 1953, devoted to his country, Manny was severely wounded in Korea. His bravery was recognized by being awarded the Purple Heart.
He also received the Parachute and Combat Infantry Badges, Service Metal with 1 Bronze Campaign Star, 1 Overseas Bar, U.N Service Metal and a National Defense Service Metal for his valor. Manny was a dedicated military serviceman, lifelong member of VFW, DAV, and AM Vets. He enjoyed painting portrait's of Metal of Honor Serviceman and gifting them to their families and or/ donating them to several Veteran and Memorial Museums across the United States.To a very special person a heartfelt thank you and appreciation for being my rock. Mindy Shirley. He was precede in death by his mother; father;five sisters; and two nieces. Manny is survived by his loving family; sisters,Pat Hernandez, Josephine and her husband John Esparza and Ginger Gonzales;his brothers; Richard and his wife Lupe Rojas,Henry Rojas and his wife Tina; loving nephews, Carlos and his wife Megan, Andy and Dave Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fresno, CA on 12-20-2013 @ 11:00a.m.
