Mrs. Margaret Katherine Lamonica

A lifelong resident of Fresno, Margaret was born on February 25, 1927 to Daniel and Katherine

Castello, and passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the age of 88.

Margaret married the love of her life, Joseph Lamonica on October 26, 1947. Together, they took over

the family farm and raised three children. As her children grew Margaret eventually began working at

Wawona Frozen Foods and Lyons Magnus of Clovis, until she retired at the age of 58.

Margaret was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she served in various parish

ministries. She very much enjoyed being active in the Holy Spirit Seniors group as well as the ICF

(Italian Catholic Federation). Throughout her life, Margaret enjoyed traveling in the United States

and internationally. She loved the theater, the San Francisco Giants, and her occasional trips to the casino.

But most of all, Margaret loved people. She was the most loyal and loving mother, grandmother, and

great-grandmother. She adored her friends and family and spending as much time with them as she could.

Margaret was full of life, love and laughter. Everyone who met her fell in love with her. She was truly an

amazing, radiant person who loved life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents, Daniel and Katherine; and her brothers,

Tony, Alfred, Jerry, Tom, Daniel and Leland Castello.

Margaret is survived by her children, Beverly Hendrix and Pamela Lamonica of Fresno, and Gregory

Lamonica and his wife Sharon of San Ramon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jason Hendrix

and wife Joanna, Brianne Beggs and husband Patrick, Justin Lamonica and wife Nicole, and Eric Lamonica

and wife Jessica; as well as seven great-grandchildren, Paige, Allyson, Jenna, Liam, Wyatt, Ethan and

Jackson. Margaret also leaves behind her sister, Dolores Biehle and husband Bob.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Wednesday, September

30, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic

Church on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at

10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Clovis Cemetery.
