Maria Alcala Cortez, age 29 passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Maria was born May 10, 1993 in California.

Maria is survived by her mother Griselda Alcalan de Cortez; her brother Guillermo Cortez and her sister-in-law Josefina Ordaz; her nephew Guillermo Cortez, her nephew Aiden Cortez and her niece Evelyn Cortez.

A visitation for Maria will be held Monday, June 13, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Calaveras Chapel, 1605 L Street, Fresno, CA 93721. A rosary will occur Monday, June 13, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 1605 L Street, Fresno, CA 93721. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Mary Claret, 2494 S Chestnut Ave, Fresno, CA 93725. A committal service will occur Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery, 1411 W Belmont, Fresno, CA 93728.

Serving as pallbearers are Guillermo Cortez, Jose Villalobos, Ernesto Villalobos, Elias Brambila, Alejo Ordaz and Emanuel Monroy Espinoza.
