Maria was the true heart of her family and a beacon of warmth to everyone who knew her. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, survived by her five children and six grandchildren, who will forever carry her memory and lessons in their hearts.
A woman of simple pleasures and deep passions, Maria found great joy in tending to her beautiful plants and caring for her doves. When she was strong, her kitchen was a place of magic and connection. She was renowned for her incredible cooking, especially her delicious tamales, birria, pozole, and her cherished tradition of "Mole Mondays."
More than just an excellent cook, Maria’s true gift was how she brought people together. The doors to her home were always open, and there was always a place at her table for anyone who walked through them. Her weekends were filled with the best kinds of memories—gatherings alive with the sound of music playing in the background, friends and family gathered together, and rooms filled with endless roasting and laughter. She made sure everyone felt like family, and no one ever left her home hungry or unloved.
Her spirit will live on every time her family gathers, every time music plays on a weekend afternoon, and in every meal shared in her honor. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
