He died peacefully in the care of Nancy Hinds Hospice. Mark was a retired pipe inspector for Video Inspection Specialists, a company his older brother Greg owned.
Also preceding him in death were older siblings Julie D’Angelo, Jennifer McColl and Jeffrey Ray and sister-in-law Sheree Ray.
He is survived by siblings Gregory Ray, Marcia Shaw and Monica Lovgren her husband Keith, Brian and brother-in-law Tom D'Angelo as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mark attended Our Lady of Victory elementary school, San Joaquin Memorial High School and graduated with a degree in business from Fresno State University.
It was through these years that he developed numerous lifelong friendships that continued until his untimely passing. Mark was a gifted athlete playing all sports growing up and competed collegiately in golf.
He was an avid sports fan and attended many events rooting on his favorite Raiders and Notre Dame Irish. Concerts and the like he also attended always in search of the next good time.
Another passion he had was fishing. Some years back he purchased a boat with his cousin Matt that would travel the high seas or any lake in search of the next lunker.
His kindness was memorable, lending a hand or kind words to anybody he felt in need. It was also often accompanied by his stellar wit that might startle you before you realized it came from a place of genuine love.
A funeral mass is set for 10 am on Friday July 28th at Our Lady of Victory Church in Fresno. A luncheon will follow next door in the social hall with catering by Palomino’s another lifelong friend.
Burial will follow at Saint Peter’s Catholic Cemetery Fresno, CA.
