Mary Ann Stumpf, 91, died peacefully on January 27, 2013, in Fresno at the Sunrise Quality Care Home where she delighted in being called "Granny." She was born on January 19, 1922 in Yellville, Arkansas and moved with her parents to Fresno at the age of eight. Following high school graduation and secretarial school, she married her husband, Alex Stumpf, Jr. June 20, 1943. They were parents to two children, Terrill L Stumpf and Janice C Stumpf. Mary Ann retired in 1987 as an executive secretary to the President of Producers Cotton Oil Company.
Mary Ann and Alex were active members of Peoples Church for over 40 years, attending an Adult Bible Study, Sunday School, and the Active Adults Group.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, "Little Alex," who died in 1995; and her beloved daughter, Janice, who died in 2009.
She is survived by her son, Terry, of Chicago, Illinois, and a whole host of extended family and relatives, friends, and those who lovingly cared for her over the past 10 years.
A private family interment was held at the Clovis District Cemetery where Mary Ann is buried with "Little Alex".
A Memorial Service will be held in the G.L. Johnson Memorial Chapel of the Peoples Church in Fresno, on Friday, February 1, 2013, at 11:30 am.
