

Mary Ann passed away in Fresno on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at the age of 78. She was born on June 19, 1932, in Cardwell, Missouri. She moved to Selma in 1946 an graduated from Selma High School in 1950.
She married Richard Burger on July 28, 1949, and moved to Fresno. While her children were in school, she became active in P.T.A and served in many officer positions including PTA President at Norseman Elem- entary, Yosemite Junior High and McLane High. She also served as President of the Fresno City Council P.T.A and the 11th District P.T.A. She was also on the California State P.T.A Board of Directors for many years. She was a member of the committee that brought public television to Fresno.
After her youngest child graduated from high school, she became a district manager for Avon. She loved her job and was named a Circle of Excellence manager three times. She retired in 2000.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by Richard, her husband of fifty years.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Underwood; and her husband Ron of Fresno; her sons, Jerry and wife Marlene of Sun- nyvale and Ron and wife Barbara of Fresno; grandson Adam of San Jose; granddaughters Angela and Belinda of Fresno; sister, Dola Gregory of Fresno; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
