It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Merna Lea Nobile of Clovis, California on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Merna, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at age eighty-four. Merna was born on August 23, 1938 in Wasco, California, the daughter of Laverne and Eda Cordy. Merna attended Maricopa High School and graduated in the class of 1956.
Merna is now reunited with her loving husband of 53 years. Merna married Wayne Nobile on October 7, 1960. She is survived by her younger brother, Kenneth Cordy. She is also survived by her three children Lori, Ron and Mike. She raised her children with love and devotion in Clovis, California. Their children gave them seven grandchildren, Shannon, Shellene, Sara, Dean, Dylan, Jacob, and Emily; and several great-grandchildren. Merna’s children and grandchildren made up the entirety of her world.
Merna was best known for her quick-witted humor, fierce determination, and generous spirit. Merna was an active and caring woman who spent most of her life thinking about others. She always surrounded herself with her family and friends, which is where she felt the most comfortable and loved. Merna enjoyed traveling and capturing beautiful scenery through photography. She had a eye for detail and loved sharing her art work with family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be on December 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Clovis Cemetery.
