I'm so proud to be your son, you taught me how to be a respectful honorable gentle man. A survivor, a fighter, and a passionate man. Everything I am today and everything I love and how I love it is because of you. My hobbies, my desires, my passions, my knowledge, and my love of music. Never in my whole life did you lay a hand on me. You were better then that... Instead to showed me right and wrong with a detailed explanation so I could understand right from wrong instead of fear consequence from my father for doing wrong. You showed me how to be best friends with my own brother. To this day we are inseparable and we love each other then most siblings ever could. You taught us to be a team and to work together because when all around you fell and you had no one or nothing to count in this world... There was always one person left who would be there for you, my brother. Ill never forget the pride in his eyes when I graduated from the military, nor the smile on his face when my brother and i took to our guitars and would play music together to make him proud. Every Birthday, holiday, BBQ, camping trip, or family get together. You always were the best host we could ask for. Cooking the best foods and keeping everyone feeling welcome and feeling excited about being there. He was a great people person.
We had so much in common dad Richard and I. We all loved historic moments in time together visiting museums, air shows, and even playing games together with old war themes. We still play those games even to this day. He even inspired our nerd side, our love for Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, strategic gameplay, and sword collecting from our favorite movies. Today my brother and I are heavy gamers playing the same games he shows us when we were kids. Did you know he was a dungeon master grey wizard when he was younger? His friends feared him whenever he played because his skill and knowledge of the game always gave him the upper hand. He was also a great marksmen, he loved to be out in the wild hunting, shooting, and fishing. I believe he past those skills onto Richard and I. Because of what my dad taught me I was the most accurate gunner in my platoon and was offered to become a sniper if chose to do so. My brother Richard is the best strategist I've ever known, people always look to him without question for leadership. While Richard and my father would talk about military and game strategies while my father and I talked about airplanes and guns on our free time together as kids. Richard and myself are who we are only because of this great man. I only wish he could've stayed around long enough to see us grow into something bigger then the kids we still are today... I know he can still see us from up there with grandmother Rebecca and granddaddy Burl. I just hope he's happy where he is and will never forget to look our way to see the fruits of his seed... I love you dad, I miss you already.
