

Michelle A. McCarthy-Ruffino, 62, of Fresno, California, passed away September 28, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Michelle leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, kindness, and service that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Michelle is survived by her beloved husband, Brian Ruffino; her sons, Jacob Ruffino and Jordan Ruffino, who were the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She was also blessed to welcome her daughters-in-law, Caty Ruffino and Paige Ruffino, into the family she loved so dearly.
She is further survived by her mother, Donna McCarthy; her sisters, Terri Ellis and Kim Picotti; her niece, Kellie Ellis; and her great-nephew, Cole Ellis, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
For 40 years, Michelle dedicated her life to education as an elementary school teacher. She touched countless young lives with her patience, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping children learn and grow. Teaching was more than a profession to michelle; it was a calling that reflected her generous spirit and deep love for others.
Outside the classroom, Michelle treasured spending time with her family and friends. She loved family vacations (preferably near an ocean), gathering around the dinner table to create lasting memories, and maintaining her active lifestyle. Whether traveling, sharing a meal, or simply enjoying time together, Michelle found happiness in bringing people closer.
Above all else, Michelle lived for her family. She devoted herself completely to providing love, support, and every opportunity possible for those she cherished. Her son were the focal point of her life, and she took immense pride in the men they have become. Her love was selfless, unconditional, and evident in everything she did.
Michelle will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering dedication, infectious smile, and the countless ways she made others feel loved and valued. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the lives she touched, family she adored, and the memories that will be treasured forever.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michelle's memory to support the fight against breast cancer.
Michelle's family finds comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, generosity, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
