Miguel Ángel Ovalle de León, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2023. Miguel was a proud Mexicano who passed on his fluency in Spanish to all four of his children. A devoted man of God, Miguel was a kind, generous, intelligent, and faithful man. Determined to provide his family with a good life, he taught himself how to read, write, and speak English fluently after arriving in the United States at the age of 11. And after a 50-year career consisting of hard work and 12-hour days, Miguel retired, spending the remainder of his days between America and México. He loved watching Spanish telenovelas on Netflix with a mini pecan pie in one hand and that day's Fresno Bee in the other. Miguel and his late wife of 35 years, Margaret, loved their children and grandchildren more than anything. They brought everyone together each Sunday for a family dinner for decades, ensuring that no more than one week passed before they were all together again. Miguel taught his children how to be strong, how to persevere, and how to stay positive no matter the circumstance. And to his grandchildren, he taught them the meaning of unconditional love, the meaning of loyalty, and that family must always come first. Miguel truly lit up the room; he had an incredible sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a beautiful smile. He was the anchor of his family...he was their Miguelito, el rey, and the love of their lives. He is their strength, still.
Miguel is survived by his second wife, Theresa; his four children, Barbara (Raymond), Mike, Viviana, and Sara; his eight grandchildren, Marcella, Amanda, Hana, Alana, James, Yasmeen, John, and Esperanza; his four great-grandchildren, Faith, Trinity, Andrew Junior, and Atley Cruz; and his great-great grandchild, Addison. His family would like to send their sincerest thanks and gratitude to the physicians and nurses at Saint Agnes Hospital and the Saint Agnes Hospice Staff, who took incredible care of Miguel.
