Mina Geraldine Douglas
February 19, 1922 – January 7, 2021
Affectionally known as Mom to her children and Gram by her extended family, Geri was loved and respected by all. She was quiet, but you could feel her love and respect for those around her.
She was born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania and died in Fresno, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, their first child, Jimmy, who died as a baby, son Roger, granddaughter Debbie, and great-granddaughter Melody. She was also preceded in death by her brother Bill, and sister Dorothy.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane and her husband Tom, daughter Sharon, grandson Kevin and his wife, Janet, and great granddaughter Nicole. Nicole lived with Geri and was her greatest advocate in the last four plus years of her life.
Jim and Geri moved to California with their family from Morgantown, West Virginia in 1959.
She retired from Dow Chemical at age 60. She was an inspector on one of their plastic manufacturing lines.
Jim and Geri purchased a home in Fresno, California in 1963, sold it in 1995, and moved into a mobile home park.
Geri and Jim liked to travel to Yuma, Arizona for the winter months and back to their home in Fresno each spring. They loved the winter in Yuma and made friends there that they saw every year.
Geri will be missed by her family. Tears will flow, but we know she is with Jesus and family members who preceded her in death.
