Our charismatic Anthony was born on July 2, 1950, in Fresno, CA, to joyful parents, Tony Teixeira Sr. and Guadalupe H. Teixeira. He was known from an early age for his boyish curiosity, smile, and polite manners amongst his elders, a trait he inherited from being the first grandchild of family pioneers, John and Carolina Teixeira. Anthony enjoyed being spoiled by his grandparents who would feed him the traditional coffee, Portuguese milo, and french bread on the Teixeira family farm when he was a chubby cheeked and happy little boy.
He soon developed an interest in music and sports as a young child, being very proud of the fact that he made first trumpet in his school band, and that he was a tough lineman on his high school football team. Though the trumpet and football would wane in place of Anthony's later interests, Anthony was always tough, a fact that he made sure his family knew and that would serve him well in his life's occupation.
When he was 15 years old, respected mechanic, Dave Kensel introduced Anthony to his true passion, Agricultural Mechanics and Welding. Anthony was an eager and hungry student of Dave's teachings. He worked on Case Tractors, McCormick cotton pickers, and John Deere machinery. He was known for fixing a tractor, which was scheduled for a week of repair, within three days, thereby seizing the other four days for partying. "Somebody had to do it!"
Throughout his life, Anthony was known as the life of the party. He was always able to turn the most boring or tense of situations into a funny event, quick to turn a remark into some type of memorable phrase, and truly appreciative, especially in his later life, of family and friends being together. He will be dearly missed.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to his lifelong friends, Danny Couto, and Joe and Danny Porto. Thank you for always being there for Anthony.
Anthony was preceded in death by his son, Michael Allen Teixeira; father, Tony Teixeira Sr.; and mother, Guadalupe H. Teixeira.
He is survived by his siblings, Mario Obeso, Pedro Amezcua, and Caroline Goulart; daughters, Stacey Blevins, and Sophia Teixeira; grandchildren, Joston and Brittany Frost, Kailee Chase, and Aubrea Rangel; and nephews, John Goulart, and Paul Goulart "Anthony's little mechanic".
