

Frank A. Borges passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015. He was born on October 17, 1926, in Hanford, CA, and lived in Riverdale, CA, until his family moved to Fresno, CA, in 1943. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1944.
After graduation, Frank was drafted into the United States Army during World War II. He was proud to serve his country as a Recreation Specialist and was stationed in Yokohama, Japan. Upon discharge from the Army he attended California State University, Fresno, majoring in sales and business management.
In 1950, he met the love of his life and soul mate Mary. They were married on April 15, 1951, at St. John's Cathedral in Fresno, CA. They raised four children and have been married for 63 years. Frank was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed participating in his children's school activities. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scouts of America, where his son achieved Eagle Scout with 53 merit badges. He was also a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fresno.
Frank was employed by PPG Industries Paint Division for 16 years, and held various sales and management positions. In 1970, he started his own consulting firm, Frank A. Borges and Associates, assisting clients in land use permits and regulations. Frank was elected as lifetime director of the California Building Industry Association.
Frank and his wife Mary cofounded the Catholic Professional and Business Club of the Santa Rosa Diocese. After starting a chapter in the Fresno Diocese, this organization grew into a national organization with chapters throughout the county.
Frank is survived by his wife Mary; his children, Terry and her husband Michael, Ann and her husband Errol, Kevin, and Denise and her husband Dan; grandchildren, Scott, Kevin, Robert, Jennifer, Julie, Jesse, Felicia, Monique, John, and Mary; one great-grandchild Charlotte; brother Ted; and sister Gerry.
Visitation will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, March 20, 2015, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Catholic Professional and Business Club of the Fresno Diocese.
