Nick was raised on Oahu, Hawaii, and after earning his G.E.D., he answered the call to duty and served in the Army for 21 years, including service in Korea during the Korean Conflict and as a Vietnam veteran. He worked as a 35HRO Calibration Specialist on tactical microwave systems, and his service was recognized with the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, two Oversea Bars, and the National Defense Medal. His life reflected a steady devotion to duty and country, carried out with the kind of discipline that earned respect without needing to ask for it.
Before his retirement, while stationed in Germany at Panzer Kaserne in Böblingen, Germany, Nick met Ingeborg, his loving and devoted wife. Together, they made a home and a family, and they poured themselves into the everyday work of supporting their children and building memories that still feel close.
After his retirement from the Army, Nick continued contributing to national defense through his work at the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory in Livermore, California. He also worked in Nevada calibrating electronic equipment for national defense, always carrying forward the same faithful sense of responsibility that had guided him in uniform.
Away from uniform and responsibility, Nick’s hands were rarely still. He could build, fix, and repair nearly anything involving electronics, approaching each problem with patience and care. Music was a constant companion as well, especially Hawaiian and Country songs that felt like home wherever he was. Nick and Ingeborg loved taking their children fishing and camping all over the country. They loved to travel, and they loved supporting their sons in their sports activities. Nick was also known to have a love for horse racing. In those moments, his faithful heart and devoted spirit were felt most clearly; not in grand speeches, but in presence, in preparation, and in the quiet ways he made sure his family was safe, included, and loved.
Nick was a man of deep faith, and a proud patriot through and through. Beloved as a father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be remembered for the steadfastness of his love and the strength of his example. He was hard charging when life demanded it and deeply devoted always.
Nick was preceded in passing by his brother William and sisters Rosalie Quintal, Marie, and Rosalie Harris. He is survived by his loving wife, Ingeborg Lloren; and his sons, Adrian Lloren, John Lloren, and Durbin Lloren. He also leaves behind grandchildren Durbin Jr., Malani, Mcgrath, Adrianna, Ashley, Makai, Kainu, and Maleah; as well as great grandchildren Leo, Teddy, Katarina, Delilah, Veron, and Callen.
His family wishes to extend their gratitude towards everyone who has reached out to offer love and support during this difficult time. He will be deeply and truly missed forever by all who had the honor of being blessed by his presence in their lives.
