Thank you for being there for me after my brother passed, I cannot think of anyone more sweet and caring as you Nick. This year has gone by so slow but so fast too but not a day goes by you and your mom are not in my thoughts. I don’t know how something like this could happen to someone so worthy of only the best in life which is the hardest part about this. Miss you.
Love always mikayla b

I had Nick for 6th period Astronomy during junior year. He never failed to make me laugh or smile real big. Whenever I was around him my energy always picked up and I never felt anything but happy around him. My favorite memory of Nick was when he played the yelling game in class. Not to my surprise, he always won and to make it better, Mr. Bamber never knew it was him yelling. It seemed like every class Nick did this and if I was having a bad day, this would cheer me up. I miss him so much and not a day goes by where I don't think of him.

I remember soccer practice after school with Nick. He was always so fun to be around and put a smile on everyone’s face. He was a great leader on and off the soccer pitch. I remember this one time he had gone to chick fil a before practice because he hadn’t eaten all day and showed up like 30 minutes late. We love you Nick❤️

I miss you every single day! There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of you and miss you. My heart breaks because of what happen to you, the emptiness I have to live with is so very difficult. You are still my whole world, I living here without you is so unfair. Until we are together again I love and miss more then you know. I love you more then there are stars in the sky!!!
Love Mom

To the family of Nick, my heart continues to hurt over this senseless act. I live in Fig Garden and think of Nick and his mom daily. I never met him, but what a special person he was, loved by so many. Nick, I will never forget you and I will continue to pray for your surviving family. My sister lost her son at age 19. Nothing will ease your pain but time. Accept the love, prayers and support from those around you. We are here for you.

Dear Lisa Marie Kauls, I know we don't know each other personally however I have been thinking of you and your family and all of "Nicks friends" since I heard of his death. I have been praying for you and will continue to pray during the days ahead, I did not know "Nick"however just from his picture and the smile on ihis face and the many many wonderful tributes tht I have read and heard about him I iknow he must have been a very very "Special son." If ever there was anything at all in addition to my prayers that I could do for you please do not hesitate to let me know. Continued prayers Sister Emily , C.S.C. I am at St. Agnes Medical Center a chaplain there.

The photos tell a most beautiful story of Nicks life and I am grateful to see them. Thank you for taking time to share them while I know your hearts are heavy and there is nothing you want more then to just have him back. I know there are no words that will fix this, and no words to make it better, and yet DO know you are surrounded in a cloak of love and unending prayer chains. DO know he will be remembered, and DO know we will do that with you. On our minds...
