Nikkiann Marie Gallardo was born on August 23, 1988. She was a cute baby that had a head full of hair. Everyone that saw her always wanted to bite her because she was so adorable. Unlike her brothers and sisters Nikki always seemed like an independent adult. She began to walk at the age of one.
When she was 1 year and 8 months old she was diagnosed with diabetes. She ended up getting pigment of the skin from the diabetes but that wasn’t a downfall, it only made her look more beautiful and unique. She was always self- conscious about herself but everyone always complemented her and told her how beautiful she was.
Although she had her ups and downs, Nikki never let her disabilities affect her. She loved to play football and go camping and she loved going to Pismo Beach with her family. When she was little her father and brother would be playing football and she would always want to join in. Her brother Joseph remembers always bugging for her to come outside to throw the ball around and no matter how tired she was she always did. Her favorite team was the St. Louis Rams, partly because that was her father’s favorite team, she never a missed a game. She mainly loved going to Pismo Beach, as she loved sleeping out on the dunes. She loved walking on the pier and going alongside the ocean. Her favorite restaurant was Splash Café at Pismo Beach and she also loved the taffy from Pismo.
Her best years in school were her high school years. She loved school and had really good grades. She was in Color Guard and she loved going to concerts with her friends. Her favorite bands were Linkin Park, Disturbed, Cold Play and many others.
Nikki was very popular and had lots of great friends. Joseph says when he was a senior in high school Nikki was a freshman and it was nice going to school with her. She would get so excited when she saw him or their sister Jennifer at school. She would always ask Joseph for a dollar and he could never tell her no.
Nikkiann was very close to her mom and dad. She lived with both parents at different times in her life. She loved, and still loves, both her parents dearly. She always spoke good about her mom and dad. She also spoke very good about her stepdad Louie, who’s always been there for all of us. We all love him very much.
Nikki was always close to her younger sister April and Louie. When Nikki was younger they were inseparable. Nikki would always do things with her oldest sister Jennifer, and Jennifer would always do things for her.
There was a time when Nikki lived with her brother Joseph and they even went to a rock concert together. She had so much fun and she was so happy. We all had a good time living with each other.
Nikki loved her cell phone and computer. She would always be on Facebook or texting family and friends. Even if she was tired she’d be on her phone.
Nikki loved all her family members very much and she loved her nieces and nephews dearly. She would get a sparkle in her eyes when they came around. They would always brighten up her day.
Nikki made such an impact on her friends and family. When you needed to talk she would listen, when you needed a hand she was there. She understood you when you thought no one did.
Although this was a short summary about her life she touched many more others in a way that can’t be put into words. She will always be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. And we will always love you Nikki.
