Norman was born on August 15, 1952, to Martin and Doris Goehring of Dinuba. He attended the local schools graduating from Dinuba High in 1970 where he excelled in sports. His junior year he was named co-Athlete of the Year. His senior year he lettered in football, basketball, baseball, track and was the Valley scoring champion in football, playing wide receiver and placekicker. He received a football scholarship to the University of Washington where he continued to play football. His freshman year as a Husky, he injured his knee which caused him to end his football career.
Norm was employed at Cotton West Ag Management in Huron CA as a bookkeeper/office manager for over 35 years, just recently retiring.
Norm was a good natured, fun loving man with a wonderful sense of humor. He always had a new joke ready to share with you. He also loved to cook and enjoyed countless hours in the kitchen or backyard on his Traeger barbecue creating and cooking great meals for the family to enjoy.
Norm was a patient, kind, loving husband and father who will be deeply missed. He leaves behind Patty, his wife of 48 years; his two children, Michael Goehring (Kimberly) and Kristin Shamblin (Joshua); his five grandchildren, Jacob, Ava and Hudson Goehring; Caleb and Ella Shamblin; his brother Fred Goehring and his sister Sharon Anderson.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the nurses and doctors at St. Agnes Hospital, especially Dr. Susan Logan who went above and beyond with her care and attention to Norm.
