Ofelia G. Sandoval

Ofelia Garcia Sandoval, 77, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, surrounded by family at her home in Fresno, California. Ofelia was born October 30, 1944, in La Feria, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Jose Angel Garcia and Guadalupe Vega Garcia. She is survived by her children Lionel Esquivel, Cynthia Melendez, Julia Sandoval, Anna Moralez, Sofia Sandoval, and Mario Sandoval. She was a loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Ofelia retired in October of 2001 from the Fresno Housing Authorities of the City and County of Fresno after 27 1/2 years as a District III Supervisor. She recently retired from H&R Block as a Senior Tax Specialist in April of 2021 after 30 years. Ofelia enjoyed reading and traveling back home where she grew up in Harlingen, Texas to visit her remaining 7 brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Tinkler 475 N. Broadway Avenue, Fresno, California 93701. A Committal Service will follow immediately at Fresno Memorial Gardens 175 S. Cornelia Avenue, Fresno, California 93706.
