Olive Dorothy Pereira

She was born on September 31, 1922, in Newman, CA, and raised in Los Banos, CA. She was the last to survive her 16 brothers and sisters. She attended Los Banos High School with William White- hurst.

Olive married Edwin S. Pereira in 1938, and lived on a ranch in Kerman, CA, raising three boys and a girl. She left the country life and moved to Fresno in 1968. Olive worked for JC Penny's for 15 years, and then Bank of America for 15 years. She was very active up to a month and a half prior to her death. She enjoyed times with family and friends. She also loved playing Bingo and Dominoes. Olive was an active member and board member with Edison Social Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Pereira; daughter, Diane Bien of Fresno, CA; son, Edwin M. Pereira of Monterey, CA; and grandson, John Bien of Fresno, CA.

Olive is survived by her two sons, Robert Pereira of Las Vegas, NV, and Richard Pereira of San Luis Obispo, CA; granddaughters, Natalie Teague, Leann Pereira, Shannon Pereira and Alysha Fuller; along with numerous great-grandchildren, and even great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Monday, April 9, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
