Opal Ruby Jones

She hitch-hiked to California with her brother Herbert in 1936. In 1937, she met and married her husband, Obralee Bob Jones. Together they raised five children: Barbara Lee Audas and her husband Jack, Robert Oray and his wife Nelva, James Willard and his wife Gail, Mary Ernestine Barousse and her husband David, and Scott Dana Jones. She had thirteen grandchildren and a whole lot of great-grandchildren and still counting.

Opal was a homemaker, an excellent seamstress, but her greatest joy was being a charter member of the West Park Baptist church teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She shared her faith and love of the Lord with everyone she knew. Our precious Mom will be missed by her children and all who knew her. She will be welcomed into Heaven by her Lord and Savior. Also waiting to greet her will be those loved ones who have gone on before her: her father and mother, Jess and Henrietta Tate; brothers, Herbert and Willard Tate; husband, Obralee Bob Jones; son, James Willard Jones; granddaughter, Thericia LeeAnn Jones; and two grandsons, Robert and William Audas.

Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
