Oscar is survived by his wife, Lucina Loring; son Oscar Loring II; daughter Elaine Loring; and daughter Pamela Loring-Hahne; brother Otis Loring; grandson Vince K. Hahne, II.
Oscar served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1954. He was a devoted and loving husband, Father, Grandfather and brother. He was a successful man in everything he set out to do, from owning service stations, construction, agriculture, farming and fisherman. Spending as much time in Monterey Bay on his Skipjack boat "Father’s Day II". Always providing for his family. Taking us all on trips. We covered Mexico, the U.S. and Canada. Attended family reunions every two years where we had family in California, Colorado, Illinois and Montana. "What a wonderful time we had". ---Lucy
My Dad was the most awesome Dad in the world. The Best gift that my father gave to us was the knowledge of knowing Jesus Christ as Our Lord and Savior. Where do I begin to tell you all that he has done in my lifetime. I can remember he would always bring us gifts whenever he had to be out of town, and we would wake up in the morning seeing our gifts at the foot of our beds knowing that he was home. One of the best memories along with everything else my dad did for us was that he built us kids was a beautiful Playhouse. The prettiest that you will ever see as shown in the video. It had a full kitchen with its own phone to the main house so cookies and Kool-Aid could be brought out to our friends. We had a big doughboy pool that my dad dug deep enough for a diving board and boy did we have fun in the summers. He built us a tree house and a firehouse with a pole to slide down and all the toys you could possibly want. We had the Best Childhood Ever! When growing up I can remember my dad taking us on trips every other weekend. We would be either at the Coast in Pismo clamming or up in the hill at one of the lakes fishing and swimming at Bass Lake, Shaver Lake or Hunting Lake, we hit them all. Let me not forget Millerton Lake in the Pink Panther boat, skiing, fishing and picnicking. I had the best childhood anyone could have ever wanted, there was no Better Dad than My DAD. He always gave his best. He was the most compassionate, kindest, loving father. I love you DAD and can’t wait to see you in heaven. ---Elaine
From Oscar II to Oscar I, My Loving Dad
Words are hard to describe my Father/Dad, as a boy to whom I am knew. My Dad was always a joy to be close too as I and many others would say, there is something about your Dad that brings out the good positive felling inside, always true with his words and Humor that would make you smile. My Dad’s love for God and family was always strong. I remember him telling us kids, me and my two sisters when we fell on hard times from depressions because God just made all your clothes and shoes last a little longer than others, kind of like Moses walking through the desert their shoes lasted 40 years. My Dad is asleep as we all will be at Gods timing…and when we all awake my Dad will be right there giving me that firm hand shake with a sparkle in his eyes, that great smile saying: Ha Ott how you doing? It has been while. “I can’t wait” this time it will be forever and ever thanks to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ Amen. ---Oscar II
My favorite memory of my Dad is when we would go fishing. Dad would get all our poles baited and help us cast out our lines. Before Dad could get his own pole out, one of us would snag our line or the reel would become knotted up. Dad always had a smile and encouraging words to share. Once again, we would be excited and looking forward to catching the big one that did not get away. Dad, I will always treasure the memories and love you have shown me. Dad now that your new home is in Heaven with the Lord, I will wait out my time to see you again. I love you Dad. ---Your Loving Daughter Pamela
