Born on February 24, 1944, in Long Beach, California to G. Earl and Margaret Mead, Pam was raised in Bakersfield and moved to Fresno to attend Fresno State University where she graduated summa cum laude and continued on to receive her teaching credential. As a passionate teacher dedicated to learning, Pam furthered her education to become a resource specialist and impacted students over a nearly four decade career.
Pam would do anything for the people she loved, especially her family. Her favorite way to spend her time was to show her unending love and support by enthusiastically attending every event any of them participated in. There was never a doubt that she was their proud, number one fan. For her family and friends she threw lavish parties with every detail in place and was lovingly referred to as “The Fun Girl”.
A devout woman of faith, upon retiring Pam dedicated herself to studying the Bible and committed to Bible Study Fellowship for the full seven year course.
Additionally, Pam loved to travel, to spoil her family and friends with handmade lollipops and gifts for every occasion, to volunteer her time to her grandchildrens’ classrooms and to the community at large. She loved generously and energetically and taught her family to do the same.
Pam is survived by her husband, Dallan Ragland of Fresno, her daughter Tami Teixeira and husband Matt of Clovis, her daughter Shami Lang-Rinderspacher and husband Stephan of Portland, Oregon, her grandchildren, Luke and Steven Teixeira who lovingly called her Grami Pami, as well as her step-children Marla Finn and Dallan Ragland Jr. of Fayetteville, NC, and her step-grandson Jackson Finn. It is impossible to put into words how sorely she will be missed.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Truewood by Merrill, Clovis, and Bristol Hospice, Fresno, for their care and support in the final years of Pam’s life.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 10:00 am at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave. Fresno, CA 93720, followed by a lunch reception. Subsequent private graveside services will be held for the family.
