I hate making memorial pins, because it means another loved one has passed. I believe God allows the departed to view their funeral, to see how impactful their life was. I know Aunt Patsy is pleased with the love that went into making these pins. I thought this would make a nice screensaver.

I remember one time I seen Aunt Patsy had gone out with the girls cruising Roeding Park and she was the one hanging out the top of the roof having a good ole time. That’s how I remember her, always wanting to laugh. Although when we were kids her angry voice could scare you ❤️. I am deeply saddened by our loss of such a woman.

I was blessed to have ever met a person with the beauty and class of patsy brown I was even more blessed when she married me patsy rose wasn't just a beautiful classy gorgeous lady there was a lot more to patsy than just beauty patsy had a gigantic heart full kindness love and compassion to every soul patsy met patsy was so very kind and loving loyal honest patient and a very strong woman even during her worst moments in life the kindness was always there she always worried about every body else patsy was always happy and never complained about anything at all she didn't care about money or the big things in life that most people fight for what made patsy happy if she could help someone in need and see if she could help them in any way she could that's what made patsy happy patsy had a hard time saying no but again that was patsy the luckiest day of my life was the day I met patsy brown patsy was one of a kind in a league of her own she will be missed more than words will ever say I will always be looking for her my soul won't rest till I can find her again with God's will we will be united again so I won't say goodbye but I will say I will see you later your my angel I love e you patsy

Mom,
I could talk for another week about your love of cooking, your unmatched cooking skills, and everything you passed on to me. Because if music is half my life’s story, the other half is food and cooking.
I don’t think I’ll ever have scratch-made Sou Boureg again, definitely not with your labor-intensive precision. I will try to make it someday, but I don’t believe I’ve ever seen someone else with your dough-rolling skills, done with such thoughtfulness and technique.
You could bake anything, and it all was delicious.
I already know I will want your Fried Chicken & Pilaf as my last meal, if I get to select it.
Coming home for lunch when I was in school was an extremely special time for me. We always had our special moments. I can taste your scratch-made Mac n Cheese even still now.
For three years, 4th grade thru 6th grade, I went to a year-round school and had different breaks from school than my brothers. Mom always made them special for me because I was home alone. We rented VHS cassettes and watched 80’s movies together! I still remember us cracking up at Fletch. Food was always involved, even though I was a picky eater and only wanted hot dogs all the time, you found a unique way to still incorporate food into my life.
All the first items I learned to cook were from you.
I have never seen someone cut potatoes as fast and precise as you, Mom.
You never needed a recipe, eyeballed ingredients to perfection every time. I eventually fell head over heels with the art of food and cooking, so much in fact it became my profession.
My Mom had a spunky style in everything she did in life, from her 70’s & 80’s clothing styles to hairdos, jewelry, food, music, personality, motherly love, and just being an incredibly fun, soulful person to be around.
You were the greatest Mother Earth has ever known.

I’m proud to say I’ve made a living in both food and music, two of my non-human passions that I got from you, Mom.



I Love You Mom.

Patsy was a sister to me, from the time I met her. She was a mother to my children. A wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; to her own.  She was the most honest person, that I know of. We had fun traveling, and going to estate sales. We always respected each other. She loved my brother so much, and said he took excellent care of her.

Aunt Patsy stepped up, to raise my brothers and I. Uncle David allowed her. I’m so thankful. I read the memorials, and have the same memories. She never wavered.

I thank God, for Uncle David & Aunt Patsy.

She had a ton of those grandpa songs too.
She comforted me during difficult times just by being there, making me laugh, and playing our music. The tradition she created for the family was all those late nights together doing whatever we felt like, whether it was cooking, hair, games, or jumping in the car for an adventure. As I sit here thinking about all these memories, I wonder when she ever had a break… she didn’t. And she loved every minute of it. She used to say, ‘Shit, kid, if we could write a book about this shit nobody would believe it.’ Grandma Patsy was absolutely irreplaceable for each and every one of us.”

“Grandma Patsy had so much stuff that a person could never hear all the stories if I started sharing them all. My favorite memory of her is staying up late with me every night when I was little, sometimes all night — whether we were rummaging in the garage, playing Rummy, me helping her do somebody’s new hairstyle, cut or color, manicures and pedicures, or in the kitchen cooking. She taught me how to make so many things: , , French toast, to fried potatoes and cookies. Whatever she was making, she’d put me up on the counter and put me right to work. I still don’t know anyone who can peel a potato faster than Grandma Patsy — hell, I don’t think a machine could beat her.
She showed her love by always including me in everything she did and teaching me to be me no matter what anyone thought. What made her special as a mother and grandmother is that she showed up when no one else would and just started helping, no matter the task, occasion, creed, color, person, problem, or party. She was intertwined from the bottom of her heart and acted like it was normal. She used to start laughing out of nowhere and say, ‘Shit, what is normal anyway? Can somebody tell me what in the shit is normal?’ and do her little laugh.
The life lessons she taught me were ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ and ‘Hope floats.’ I can this now C’mon, we gotta go! Let’s get the shit outta here!’ Then she’d say put on these glasses or this huge hat to match, grab her purse, the kids, and the keys to her good ole car. Being in the car with Grandma Patsy was to me what a blanket or a pacifier to most kids — it’s still my place where I can breathe again or let my hair down even tho I have none  She loved music so much and she had this little dance she would start doing — I can still see it now. The song she wanted all of her kids, grandkids, greats, and all the adopted ones too to hear and know came from her heart was Rascal Flatts’ ‘My Wish.’ She had a

she taught me to read my first book too I still remember happy worm book she always told me to never say I can't because I can even if it meant studying for my tests all night she would do it with me until I did everything I thought I couldn't She taught me how to cook everything I know today  and I love cooking .I can cook about anything today and which all of she taught me . She knew all the dance moves and loved i mean loved her oldies when she dressed up witch she always dressed to impress  al eyes on her so beautiful in fancy dresses and high heels when i was little id slide on her high heels and one of her dresses they were both way too big on me I'd walk around in her clothes feeling so pretty as a Little girl and I'd even wear her makeup even when I got into her makeup as a little one I sometimes destroyed her beautiful things that women never got mad instead she would make a beautiful moment out of it with pics lots of them .she told me I'm her twin  i m built just like her and look just like her. He had a bible that she kept everything me or my sisters or any of her grandkids ever gave her from my first four leave clover to every picture I drew her even a lock of my hair from my first Hair cut grandma patsy was a women of so much love  and she loved all and never passed judgement  from Amanda rose  she loves u too grandma

My Mom loved music, from the moment I was born I was surrounded by vinyl records, albums, 45s, and eight-track tapes—we played music and danced throughout my entire childhood.



I can remember vividly my Mom dancing while vacuuming the living room, the morning sun shining through the windows, to “Boogie Shoes” by KC and the Sunshine Band.



Before I started kindergarten, we would be up early in the morning and Mom would feed us breakfast and get my Brothers sent off to school, and then Mom & I would turn on our old funky, groovy black 1970s radio system with the yellowish / orange velvet disco style speakers and we'd just dance, play music all morning and sing songs while she'd clean the house.

Mom’s taste in music was eclectic—she listened to anything and everything. She once told me that she wanted Joe Cocker’s “Up Where We Belong” to be played at her funeral.



I’ve created an entire playlist that reminds me of the years we lived at my childhood home on Woodson Avenue, and all the songs that remind me of my Mom and that era of my life. I’ve been playing that list nonstop for the past week. I’ve played it often over the last few years, especially when I would take you for drives Mom.



This is the playlist that reminds me of you from when I was young. It occurred to me—too late now—that I should have created a playlist from when you were young. I will make it my purpose to create that playlist for you, even though I will never get to play it for you. I will try to find comfort in believing that you’re listening with me from above.



I believe my love of music came from my Mom—we played that Fleetwood Mac eight-track until it wouldn’t play anymore.



Later on, we had cassette tapes and CDs.



My entire life could be summed up by my love of music, and I owe that love, knowledge, and discovery to you, Mom.

I love you more than words could ever describe, I’m going to miss you so much. It all seems so unreal. I got so much of me, from you Mom.

Aunt Patsy was a huge part of  my life. She was always very loving and caring to me. We had lots of shopping trips together. She was my beautician and manicurist through high school. She taught me how to French braid. Aunt Patsy always greeted everyone with a smile and her kindness  will be in my heart forever. I love you Aunt Patsy. Tell grandma and grandpa we said hello and we miss them.

I love you, Grandma. You were one of beautiful women who raised me and made me who I am today. Every moment I had with you I remember. From chasing you with worms to lying in bed with you as we joked about papa snoring! A beautiful woman who’s responsible for raising so many, and accomplishing so much. You were such a big part of my life — I wish I could turn back time just to experience it all over again. I know that you’re at peace now, and I miss you like crazy. We all love you, Grandma.
