Paul was born on March 29, 1942 in Mexico City to Emilia Cervantes Dias. Known affectionately as “Manuel” to family and friends, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather whose life was rooted in love for his family. He was raised in Kerman, CA where his love for sports began during his school years. Paul enjoyed playing all sports while growing up. During his high school years, he met his wife, Margie. They married in 1962, had three daughters, and made their home in Fresno, CA.
He retired after 38 years in the grocery industry, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and love of people. In his retirement he spent a lot of time traveling and being with his grandchildren. He loved to visit the coast, often heading to Monterey, Carmel, San Diego and San Francisco. He got to travel with his wife to Hawaii, Florida, and many other states, often visiting national parks and witnessing historical monuments. He would frequently take his grandchildren on trips to San Francisco visiting Pier 39, eating clam chowder and shopping. He was a generous, fun, and caring grandfather who loved music and having a good time.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Rivas; three daughters, Monica, Kathy, and Lisa; seven grandchildren, Alexandra, Daniella, Matthew, Hector, Benjamin, William, and Jadzia; and eight great- grandchildren, all of whom were the pride and joy of his life.
Paul’s legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape, and the love and smiles he shared so freely.
