Our dear sweet Paula, who we met when we moved to Fresno in 1972.  We loved our visits with Don & Paula & always will remember Don’s dry sense of humor & Paula’s wonderful laugh. She taught me how to make some wonderful Armenian food ie:  Sooberag, Yalanchi, & her amazing chorag, my kids favorite.  I even entered it in the Fresno County fair & took 2nd place. (Thank you Paula).
You could never bring something to Paula ( flowers on Valentine’s Day,  Mother’s Day, or her birthday) without her giving you 
something in return ie:  oranges, persimmons, or pomegranates from her trees.  We called her our “Fresno Mom” & we were her “Fresno Kids”.  We cherish wonderful memories & the promise of one day seeing her again.  With love from Mike & Jane Watt & family

Paula Moran was my second cousin. Our mothers were first cousins and our grandmothers were sisters. We went back one more generation to our great-grandmothers, the Aslan sisters, Marie & Surpoohi (Naman & Mooradian). We are their great-grandchildren. There we reconnected with our third cousins. Our local Fresno Chapter of “The Great Ones” included Paula. We had siblings, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd cousins when we’d meet. This photo was from our last luncheon before the pandemic cheated us of one more visit with our sweet cousin Paula! We’ll always miss her zest and joy of life!

Paula Moran was a kind woman with a laugh that was simply uncontainable. I'm sure she would have burst if she had even tried. As my sister, Barbara, has already mentioned, the appearance of Paula, Don, Cookie and Rodger brought joy in our own rather somber household. Much later in my life when I was staying with my mother in Fresno, Paula and I would go bowling. She had quite a swing and usually the higher score. The last time we talked was when I called her from the road on my way back to LA.  Paula was the last person living in Fresno who I would ever want to visit. Now there's no reason to drive the 99. She was one of a kind.

My mother was a very loving person to many people.  We all loved her in return.  The latest photo of her that I have is this one that I believe was on her 95th birthday.  Her youngest granddaughter, Natalie, is beside her.

Paula (or, "Mrs. Moran," to us) was a bright light in our lives when she and her family lived in Fresno.  We'd never been around anyone with such a good sense of humor as she and Don had--what a contrast to our family--taking things as seriously as they needed to be but always laughing, always joking together, always affirming.  I would be so excited when my Mom would say, "the Morans are coming over on Sat. night."  It meant popcorn, root beer, games and FUN people.  Paula tried to act scolding when in 7th grade Cookie and I hid the EGW book from the teacher (we couldn't take it any more, an hour of reading downer messages to us [sorry to those who this offends]), but of course I think she thought it was kind of funny.  A beautiful woman, a beautiful spirit.  She sure made my Mom happy to have her as a lifelong friend.

Paula was one of the most loving and fun relatives that anybody would adore and cherish! Even at age 95, it was still too soon for her to leave us. She has left us but the memories are wonderful❣️
