Pearl Annette Scott

December 15, 1918March 3, 2018

Pearl A. Scott was born in Whiting, Indiana, on December 15, 2018 to Arleigh N. Dewhirst and Lilly Miller Dewhirst. The family moved to Fresno six months later. She suffered a stroke and was transferred to Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City, CA where she passed away two days later on March 3, 2018.

She attended Jackson Elementary School and graduated from Roosevelt High School. After graduation, she worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company and married Warren B. Scott on June 25, 1938. Later, she returned to work in retail sales in the women's wear at Montgomery Ward Department Store.

She was a member of the Parlor Lecture Club and an avid card player; she loved nothing more than to play bridge or canasta with friends and various other card games with her family and children. She was still playing cards up until the time of her passing. Summer vacations in Santa Cruz were a memorable part of her life while her children were growing up. She loved to cook. Family gatherings were always enjoyable events as we savored the fruits of her kitchen labors.

Pearl is survived by her son, Kenneth W. Scott and his wife Judy; daughter Penny Powell and daughter-in-law Patricia Scott; grandchildren Denelle Urquhart and her husband Scott; Marty Scott; Leslie Tracy and her husband Jason; Kristie Fok and her husband Derek; Scott Powell; Shelley Nelson and her husband Richard and Mike Scott; great grandchildren; Kyle and Carson Urquhart; Lauren and Scott Tracy; Brandon Adamson and Midori Fok; Brayden, Kegan and Tyler Power; Kevin and Lance Nelson and Giana Scott.

Pearl was pre-deceased by her husband Warren and son Dennis L. Scott.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 at Belmont Memorial Park located at 201 N. Teilman Ave., Fresno, CA 93706.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any remembrances be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Pearl (Gigi) was such a lovely, warm person. We always looked forward to seeing and talking to her at Denelle and Scott's extended family gatherings. Our boys called her Gigi too, because Carson and Kyle called her by that name. She will be dearly missed, but we know she is in the LORD's heavenly kingdom, looking down and smiling. She is resting with her husband and son. We will continue to pray 🙏 For Ken, Judy, Denelle , Marty and the rest of her Family. Rest In Peace Pearl.

Pearl was a lovely lady. I always looked forward to seeing and talking to her at Denelle and Scott's extended family gatherings. She was always was so sweet and kind. My boys called her Gigi, even if she wasn't their official great-grandma. She lived a long and loving life here on Earth. I know she is up in heaven with the LORD and with her husband and son. We will miss you Gigi. Our prayers will continue to be with Ken, Judy, Denelle ,Marty and the entire Scott Family. 🙏❤️ Chris, Greg, Connor and Logan Urquhart

What a beautiful person Pearl was. I was one of the girls that worked for her in the fashion department at Montgomery Ward. She always had a smile. I am so glad she had a long life with good health. I know she always did some golfing in her time as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
