Petra Diaz Martinez, age 99, of Fresno, California passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021. Petra was born October 18, 1921 to Francisca Belmontes and Apolonio Diaz. Petra enjoyed gardening and attending church.
Petra is survived by daughter Sally Tovar (Jose) of Fresno, California; sister Benita Castillo of Fresno, California; granddaughter Melinda Tovar (David Jacobo), grandson Ramon Ramos Jr. and great grandson Nicholas Jacobo.
Petra was preceded in death by her husband Henry M. Martinez; father Apolonio Diaz and mother Francisca Belmontes; sister Katie Dimas and brother Isabel Diaz.
A visitation for Petra will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Saint Alphonsus Church, 351 E. Kearney Blvd, Fresno, CA 93706. A rosary service will occur Friday, February 26, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, 351 E. Kearney Blvd, Fresno, CA 93706. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 26, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 PM, 351 E. Kearney Blvd, Fresno, CA 93706. A burial will occur at St Peters Cemetery, 264 N. Blythe Ave., Fresno, CA 93706-1001.
Serving as pallbearers are Jose Tovar, David Jacobo, Jason Castillo, David Castillo and Ronald Castillo.
