It is with a deep sadness that we announce Petra Orosco Turner, a loving wife, mother, and devoted minister, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 1, 2025, at the age of 83 in Fresno, California.
Born in Artesia, New Mexico on June 26, 1941, Petra was the cherished daughter of Andres R. Orosco and Lydia O. Orosco.
Petra's life was marked by her faithfulness and devotion. She graduated from ministry school in 1994 and served as an ordained minister for 31 years. Her dedication to her faith was evident in her active involvement with both La Promesia Church, and Centro de Adoración Fresno, particularly in the woman's ministries.
Petra's personal interests included hosting and attending large family gatherings, taking pride in her appearance, and being an avid reader. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, with the two of them making it to Europe, Canada, and Mexico. Petra also loved and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
Petra was married to her husband, Jose L. Turner, for over 50 years, and together they built a large and loving family.
Petra is survived by her spouse, Jose L. Turner, and their three children, Alisa Marie Walker, Nicole Jennifer Felix, and Joseph Patrick Turner. Petra is also survived by her grandchildren, Jimmy J. Walker, Ashley Beech, Isaac Walker, Joseph Turner Jr., and Liliana Felix, as well as great-grandchildren Dallas Beech, Thomas Beech, Jameson Beech, Leniya Walker, and Nychloe "Coco" Walker.
Petra's favorite saying was, "You are blessed and highly favored, Child of God." and she made sure to share it with everyone. The legacy she leaves behind is truly one of love, faith, and devotion.
Petra's family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all who have offered love and support during this difficult time.
A visitation for Petra will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, located at 202 North Teilman Ave, Fresno, California, on February 13, 2025, starting at 4:00 pm.
