As a child, I truly felt apart of the Lam family. I grew up in a house around the corner from them, and they always welcomed me into their home and treated me like family. And Phillip was no different. When I came over to play, Phillip would play with and tease me just like he would his sisters. Though frustrating, I would also laugh and think, "This is what having a little brother is like," and it made me so happy. 

He also had a strong kindness about him, even as a child. He never said no to someone who asked for help.

Though we didn't see each other as much as we grew up, I always enjoyed seeing him on neighborhood walks and catching up. I would always think to myself, "Wow, Phillip has become such an amazing adult!" And he also kept his kind spirit, which he had since childhood. My family and I admired him as a person, and, as people who watched him grow up, also felt so very proud of him.

I miss him, and it hurts to know that, when I next return to Fresno, that he won't be there on my next neighborhood walk working on his car in the driveway.  I feel immensely blessed to have known him.

My sincerest condolences to the Lam family. I love you all so much.
