Randal “Randy” Kent Easley was born on October 30, 1954 in Weed, California to Paul and Patricia Davis Easley, raised in Redding, California and passed away in Alaska on August 18, 2023. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the road construction industry building roads and dams with his father for Easley Construction. He left construction to attend the University of Southern California where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. He went on to earn a Master of Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University where he completed his anesthesia training to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
After earning his degrees, Randy worked in multiple states throughout the country as an anesthesia provider in hospitals and private surgery centers. Randy eventually found his way to Fresno and worked many years at University Medical Center and later Community Regional Medical Center. During his time in the operating room, Randy enjoyed the camaraderie of the operating room teams he worked with and made many lifelong friends in the process.
Randy completed the US Amry Academy of Health Science and became a AMEDD officer. He served as an AMEDD officer in the U.S. Army Reserves and was activated during Desert Storm.
Randy and Robin loved traveling and spending time in the outdoors. Randy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed scuba diving, hiking, and spending time in Alaska. He hiked the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Mt. Shasta and Nepal’s Everest region. He cherished spending time with his animals and most of all his beloved Rottweilers.
Randy is survived by the love of his life, Robin Reisz, his stepmother Shirley Easley, two daughters Andrea Stratton and Rebecca Easley, three grandsons, his sister Joyce Garnero, the Reisz family and close friends.
Randy’s memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the St. Peters Catholic Cemetery Nativity Chapel in Fresno, California.
