“I thank my God every time I remember you”
Believer, husband, dad, Papa and friend Randy went home with the Lord after 16 years of Parkinson’s and related health problems. He treasured every moment with family – especially grandchildren- and friends. Thank you, Lord, for the extra time you gave us with him and for the visits and calls, dear caretaker Mary Guerrero who made it possible for him to be at home, her son Donny who put him in the car to take a ride, and Dr. Pat Golden who treated him for many years.
Born in Fresno, he spent his entire 71 years here. He had several different jobs before he worked at the Fresno Police Department….first as a reserve officer, then a patrolman, then in a group called SES- Special Enforcement. He loved every moment of being a cop for 11 years until he retired due to an on the job injury. Randy established Kraus and Dye Investigations with his partner Jerry…..so the “cop work ” continued for many more years. He watched about EVERY police show on TV and had many stories to tell about his own experiences.
Randy was a big man with a big heart and loved the Lord, his family and many dear friends ( his oldest Lew Coles ), dear Mary Guerrero his caretaker, little Bud his dog. He also savored a great steak and cigar, barbequeing, golf, NASCAR, the Elbow Room –table 1…….and a nice bourbon and coke or Grey Goose on the rocks ! He had a great smile and laugh and will be dearly missed ‘tho we know he is in a far better place.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mena Kraus, and a dear grandbaby Tristin and many dearly loved relatives and friends.
He is survived by Sue, his wife of almost 50 years; lovely daughters Melissa Dow and Tiffany Trout; the best sons in law Doug Trout and Chris Dow, and 5 wonderful grandkids….Mason, Tanner, Julia, Ethan, and Tyla. He is also survived by his aunt Elsie Eaton of Caruthers and a sister Peggy Burgan and her husband Bud.
