Raymond “Monchie" Garcia was born on August 31, 1937 in Fresno, CA. If you were to ask him he would say it was on a Tuesday @ 5:52 pm at the old Saint Agnes Hospital on Fruit. He was called home on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the age of 87 years old.
Ray grew up in Malaga, he went to Fowler High School. Graduated from Fresno City College, attended Fresno State University. Ray served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964 as a Corpsman, after the military he worked for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department for some years. He left the department and started working for Hoffman-LaRoche pharmaceutical company and remained there for over 25 years until he retired in 1999.
Ray liked fishing, hunting, bowling, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, fair and amusement park rides. Ray was a brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mike and Cora Garcia, Spouse Helen Sanchez, brother Mike Garcia, daughter Patricia Garcia.
Ray will be greatly missed for his humor, his jokes and his stories.
