Born on December 12, 1945, to parents Enrique and Rebecca Gonzales, Rene was brought up nurturing his faithful and loving nature, leaving behind a legacy built on love and laughter.
Rene attended and graduated from Atwater High School and later earned his A.A. degree from Fresno City College. His career included many various jobs, but he also volunteered as a crossing guard at Lane Elementary School, where he touched the lives of and protected many young students.
In his personal life, Rene was passionate about photography, card games, playing the guitar, bowling, and basketball. He enjoyed being outdoors, often fishing and camping. Rene also had a great love for pizza, his favorite food.
Rene was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique U. Gonzales and Rebecca P. Gonzales. He is survived by his beloved family, including his sisters, Gloria Toomajian and spouse Ron Toomajian, Nora Adishian and spouse Art Adishian, and Sylvia Gonzales and spouse Ernie Valles, as well as his cherished nieces and nephews.
Rene's family wishes to extend their most sincere thanks to everyone who has reached out to offer their love and support during this difficult time. At rest with God, Rene's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
His family also asks that any monetary donations in Rene's honor go towards the charity of your choosing.
A graveside service for Rene will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, located at 264 N Blythe Avenue, Fresno, California, 93706, on August 1, 2025, starting at 10:00am.
