Rest In Peace Richard. The bowling alley Isn't quite the same without you. 

Vivian and I missed the times when we would come in on Saturday and you would have Pizza for the gang to share...also the M&M's. Miss you lot's my friend...RIP!

Doesn't seem like a year has passed since you left this world. Rest In Eternal peace,  Amen. 

We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Rich's passing.  He was such a kind man. The bowling alley is just not the same without you and you will be forever missed. Thinking of you June. Our deepest condolences to you and your family.

My heart and condolences go out to June and Richard‘s family. Richard and I were college buddies and had the same major and crammed for exams together. Richard’s since of humor will be missed along with his sincere friendship and bowling knowledge for everyone.

I was so sadden to hear of Richards passing.I can’t say just when Richard started drilling my sister and a couple of bowling’s buddies(Jerry Hanson my sister, Barbara Obrien, amd BJ Mack’s bowling balls.  We would load up the car and head for Sierra Lanes to see Richard. We all live in  Visalis . Usually on those days he would sell maybe 3 or 4 Balls a couple pairs of shoes to us . I bought my last pair of bowling  shoes from him about six or seven years ago. They will probably last me until I stop bowling. He introduced my sister and me to the It thumb insert which my sister and I really liked. He was such a pleasurable kind man to every one of us . Our prayers go out to June  and the family. Richard I pray you Rest In Peace . We will miss your friendly smile and kind words. God be with you June . 

Where do I start.  I’ve known Rich since I graduated HS in 1986.  He drilled All of my equipment starting in ‘91 after I got out of the Air Force.  I loved hanging out at the shop and just talking and laughing all the time!  This past year during covid me and Rich got really close.  He was not working and didn’t want to stay home so he asked if he could help me in my business. We have pretty much seen each other 5 days a week for over a year.  Rich was a relentless hard worker and would do anything for anybody. It really felt more like family.  I finally this year got to Bowl Nationals with him on his 30th year.  Rich you will be so missed.  I was in the shop today when I was in Fresno and it was just so strange to not see his face and talk.  June you are in my prayers during this time.  RIP Rich!

First time I met rich was in 1986. He was strongly recommended by my air force buddies at castle afb. Cannot begin to think the amount of bowling balls he has drilled for me the past 35 years..my last ball he drilled for me was a roto grip hustle in late june. Last ball he drilled for my wife was during the senior tournament on the 10th..you have an impeccable knowledge of layouts and drilling. Gonna be hard to find someone of your caliber! RIP my friend!

Rich was the man when it came to drilling bowling balls he drilled my first ever bowling ball a Storm Fight and the last ball he ever drilled for me was A Storm Omega Crux. That ball will always carry a special memory now. Rich was a great man and im glad I had the pleasure  to bowl a doubles league with you as a partner. RIP Rich you will be dearly missed.  Prayers go out to the Whole Shimoda Family.

It was a privilege to know Rich at the Sierra Pro Shop. There was always at least a couple of folks there, just hanging out, as you would meet friends at a coffee shop! That’s how congenial and friendly Rich was. He took time to help me select a new ball many times, and drilled them perfectly. While I’ll miss the confidence and quality of Rich’s work, more I’ll miss the friendly face and pleasant conversation. 

We offer our deepest condolences to June and the entire Shimoda family. It was a pleasure bowling with Richard in the Nisei league. My son Aaron and I spent countless hours in his shop, whether to enlarge a thumb hole, buy a new bowling ball or just spend time talking baseball. We will miss you tremendously Richard. Rest In Peace and may perpetual light shine upon you.

JoAnn and I send our condolences  to June and family.
Rich and I go back so far I can't remember the date, Rich was a great guy and a fantastic ball driller, he drilled many bowing balls for me and helped me with my bowling, even when he was busy  in the shop. I will miss him he was a good friend.
When JoAnn and I managed Cedar Lanes, Rich and June always supported us, by bowling in our leagues and bringing us there own leagues.
What a good man Mr Shimoda was  and friend to many many bowlers.
We will miss you Rich and we are sure you are on a great team in heaven with many of you bowling friends. Many 300'S our friend


Our favorite memory with Rich was bowling league with him and hanging out in his pro shop eating pizza and talking about the pro bowlers on tv. We also enjoyed taking you milkshakes without whipped cream from Carl’s Jr. When we were going to come visit you. Thank you for being our ball driller for many years. Thank you for putting up with my annoying requests to have new thumbs made all the time lol. We’re going to miss you so very much! We’re always thinking of you and the entire Shimoda family and the family is in our thoughts and prayers. We wish you comfort and eternal peace. The Shimoda family will always hold a special place in our hearts. God bless you and the entire family. Until we meet again Rich! 😇🙏😇 

Richard was a kind and gentle soul, and anyone who knew him was the better for it.  I offer my condolences to June and the rest of Richard's family and friends.

Me memories of Rich go back to the first visit to R&S Pro Shop when we moved here in 2008. I would venture a guess that if you bowl, Rich has drilled you a ball. You will be missed by all. Rest in Eternal Peace! 

When I think of you Rich I go back In time to the original Blackstone Bowl and all the great times we had there. You have been a fixture on the Fresno bowling scene for over 55 years and you will be missed. Rest In eternal peace. Amen 🙏
