Rita Fay Staley Hinojosa

Rita Fay Staley Hinojosa went to sleep in Jesus on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 3:50 a.m. She was 92 years old. She was born in Ogden, Utah on March 23, 1933, the second (and last surviving) of eight children of William and Edith Staley.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Mary Nixon, Larry Jackson, Darlene Cano, Danny Staley, Ernest Coates, Grant Allen Staley, Jeannie Clark, and her husband of 69 years, David Thomas Hinojosa.

She is survived by her children Nicanor, David (Antonia), Rosalina Messer (Wade), and Ricardo, her grandchildren; Alyssa Flores (Luis), Nicole Hinojosa, Montserrat Hinojosa, Rebecca Messer, David Arthur Hinojosa, Amanda Jackson (Tevin)., as well as her six great-grandchildren; Ramsey Gonzalez, Benjamin Hinojosa, Valerie Duran, Summer Duran, Galilea Jackson, Embry Duran.

She has many nieces and nephews as well as brother-in- law Rudy Hinojosa and sister-in-law Maria Elena Hinojosa.

She was a member of the Fresno-Central Seventh-day Adventist church since February 21, 1981.

She was beloved by all, a kindhearted, giving, strong, considerate woman, an excellent homemaker and cook, and a strong Christian who prayed fervently for those she loved. She was a survivor and the foundation of our family, and we will all miss her so very much.

A visitation will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, located at 202 North Teilman, Fresno, CA 93706-1310, on August 5, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel on August 6, 2025, at 10:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Belmont Memorial Park.

Rita's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
