the age of 89. After completing high school, Robert was inducted into the
service and joined the navy and served his country until 1946. Upon
leaving the service, Bob enrolled in college back in the University of South
Dakota at Vermillion, and completed his college education within three
years at the University of Syracuse, New York. Robert spent his early
career in his father's Madison based store, Galloway's, and then moved
into personnel work in Guam and then later as the Director of Personnel
for both Fresno and then Phoenix where he retired in 1985. He loved
retirement where he enjoyed tennis, music, reading, and traveling. His
daughters moved he and his wife of 63 years, Gayle, back to Fresno in
2010. Gayle passed in 2011.
Robert was a quiet man who more than anything loved his wife and his four
girls along with his dog, Frostie. He will be missed greatly by them.
He is survived by his four daughters: Diane Barsanti (husband Rich), Erla
Stanley (husband Darrell), Paula Powell (husband Tom), and Bobbie Walsh
(husband Ben); his 7 grandchildren: Angela, Julie, Kyle, Jamie, Kelly, Billy
and Brittney; and his six great grandchildren: Addyson, Makenna, Tivoli,
Benton, Kylie, and Keegan.
