

Robert, a Fresno native, was born to Frederick and Elizabeth Gleim on February 7, 1930. He graduated in 1949 from Roosevelt High School where he met his wife, Lita. Shortly thereafter, Robert and Lita were married on February 17, 1950. Robert served in the National Guard, being honorably discharged in October 1953. Robert was a union electrician by trade and a member of the IBEW National and Local 100 for 61 years, retiring in 1992.
After retiring, Robert and Lita enjoyed many camping trips, traveling in California, Oregon and Washington to visit family and friends. Robert took pleasure in many outside hobbies, including electronics, computers, and amateur radio. Robert was an expert craftsman. He enjoyed building and operating radio control airplanes, boats and cars from the time his boys were young and continuing into his later years. Robert enjoyed attending Cedar Avenue Baptist Church of Fresno and being an usher at the morning service.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Lita, in 2006. Robert is survived by his sons, Gary (Sandy), Robert, Jr. (Jeanne), his grandchildren, Mark (Stephanie), Candice Williams (Peter), Brian, Holly Ming (Eric), Erin Goleman (Randy), Michael and Christopher, four great grandchildren and his sister, Evelyn Snelson. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on June 11th at the Clovis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Valley Bible Church of Clovis.
