Robert Ray, age 66, of Coarsegold, California, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, in Fresno, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on July 25, 1959, in Fresno, Robert lived a life full of dedication, faith, and a deep love for the outdoors. He attended Hoover High School in Fresno and went on to build a meaningful career, working at American Carrier and Kraft Foods. After retirement, Robert continued to serve others through Kairos and as an Ordained Chaplain, offering comfort and spiritual support wherever it was needed.
Robert found joy and peace in nature. Whether he was fishing, hiking, or backpacking through the Sierra Nevada, he felt most at home under the open sky. He cherished sharing these passions with his family and friends.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Debbie Ray; daughter, Lindsey Wieland; son, Cody Ray; son-in-law, Kyle Wieland; and grandchildren, Edward and Ophelia Wieland. Robert is also survived by his siblings Pam Weston, Elaine Witt, James Ray, Billy Ray, and Lisa Riddle. Along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members who held a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Gildersleeve.
Robert’s spirit, love for family, and unwavering faith will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
