Born on December 18, 1968, in Fresno, California, Robert was later a resident of Riverdale, California. He graduated from Riverdale High School and dedicated his career to working at Ferguson Water Works for over 30 years, a path he began while still in high school. Alongside his professional life, he also worked on his family's ranch with his uncle.
In his personal life, Robert met his beloved wife, Laura, during high school. Together, they built a life centered around family, with Robert working tirelessly to provide for his wife, their children, and grandchildren, as well as taking great care of their beloved pets.
Robert's interests were varied and included passions for fishing, gardening, camping, and Nascar. He had a deep love for country and blues music, and he was also an active member of the Riverdale Rodeo Association. Recently, at the age of 55, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by jumping out of a plane.
A hard-working and loving individual, Robert was known for his kindness, loyalty, and fun-loving nature. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love, leaving an impact on all who had the honor of knowing him.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Laura Vinogradoff Petty; his sons, Robert Michael Vinogradoff Petty and Ryan Michael Vinogradoff Petty; his stepson, Nicholas Richard Vara; and his grandchildren, Adam Vinogradoff Petty and Koda Vinogradoff Petty. He was preceded in death by his father, Boris Vinogradoff, and his grandparents, Adam and Leta Haupt.
A visitation for Robert will be held on January 6, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, located at 202 North Teilman Avenue, Fresno, California, 93706. A funeral service will follow on January 7, 2026, at 10:00 am at the same location with a committal after the service at Mountain View Cemetery, located at 1411 W Belmont Avenue, Fresno, California, 93728.
Robert's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
