I am just learning of Rocky's passing,  and wish to extend my deepest condolences...
May the entire Martinez family be comforted through your sorrows

Dear family and friends of Rocky Martinez,
We are so sorry to hear of Rocky’s passing. 
Rocky was a dear friend of mine and a friend of the Gospel Echoes prison ministry of Goshen, IN. Our first connection with Rocky was over thirty years ago when he took our Bible Study Correspondence Course. Over the years Rocky would tour with us telling his story of Christ’s redemption and how Jesus changed his life as we travelled from place to place. There were multiple tours and he would spend hours in the buddy seat talking about his love for Jesus and his family as we often drove well into the night. He helped me understand the transforming power of God and how he became a new person quoting II Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new”. We’ll miss those calls when he would check up on us to make sure we were doing okay. Part of Rocky’s story is in a book we printed “Nothing Impossible” by chaplain Glenn Davis. It saddens me that we have lost another Martinez I have known this family for many many years Jerry Martinez was one of my best friends we met when we were both 13 then I got to meet the rest of the family. As we know life is not forever and I’m happy that Rocky was saved and had his love for the Lord he’s up in heaven with his beloved parents his brothers sister and his wife it saddens me .My condolences to all his children and brothers and sisters nephews nieces🙏🏽

So Saddened to hear the passing of Rocky
I go back many years  with Rocky 
Good times and bad times with Rocky
In the early 90’s Rocky came home and told me I saved his life by him going back to CDC.
After that Rocky was a different person walking with the Lord . He was such a different person
Pleasant ,Happy ,great to be around and so positive.
For many years we butted heads but now great friends
Rocky asked me many times to allow this person to go to a program instead of Prison 
I thought so much of Rocky’s opinion 
And believes I allowed his recommendations 
Sometimes it worked sometimes it  didn’t 
But over time we became close friends 
We had coffee spoke about different ideas on helping people in need 
I saw him late last year over a cup of coffee
Rocky is in Heaven working with the Lord
God Bless him and his Family
I’m out of the Country and unable to attend his services 
I’ll be back soon and Rocky an I will talk again about Rocky’s Dream of help person

Uncle Rocky, 
My heart wears heavy and I’m deeply devastated that you are gone. We have gotten super close within the last few years and I am truly blessed of those memories and that bond we created. You came back  into my life during my darkest days and at my low. You guided me into a better and stronger person then what I was and introduced me to a new world with new people I was once scared of. You introduced me back into the lord and taught me to have faith. You were just always there as someone I could just talk to about anything. You reminded me so much of my dad and it was such a blessing to be able to learn about the Martinez family and the family history I didn’t get an opportunity to attain from my dad. I’m going to miss hearing your voicemails checking up on me,  our regular chats, our breakfast at your favorite Mexican spots where you would always order your huevos rancheros, our trips to church and being your guest/date to various missionary functions where you would speak. I know you are in a better place and with Sylvia like you wished to be. I am blessed with all the memories and moments I was able to spend with you uncle. I love you forever and know you are up there with my dad and will be a new guardian angel I know who will protect me and help you keep my faith strong. 

My condolences to my Uncle’s children and grandchildren. It is definitely a sad loss. He was such a great man. Along with his faith his family (wife, children and grandchildren) were always something that’s was his priority. He was so proud of each one of you and always spoke so highly of you all and expressed his love he had for each one.  Although, he may not be here in flesh his spirit and guidance will always be with each one of you forever. Love you all and I’m so sorry for your loss. The Rudy Martinez family is always here for each one of you.
