Rod Alan Lake, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and community leader, passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 76 in Fresno, California. He was born on June 5, 1948, in Dos Palos, California to Kenneth and Veda Lake.
Rod is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol Lake; his children, Brent Lake (Jennifer), Ryan Lake, and Nicole Molina (Michael); five grandchildren, Morgan Worthan (Clay), Anthony Molina (Alessandra), Jared Lake, Nicholas Molina, and Holly Lake; and two great-grandchildren, Kensley and Karter Worthan. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Lake and sister, Deanna DuBree (Russ).
Rod proudly served as a police officer for the City of Firebaugh for 36 years, dedicating over 20 of those years as Chief of Police. His commitment to his community went beyond his law enforcement career; even after his retirement, he served on the city council, helping to ensure Firebaugh continued to be a safe and welcoming place to live.
Outside of his professional achievements, Rod was known for his passion for muscle cars, earning the affectionate nickname "Hot Rod Pop" from his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether camping, fishing, or hunting, and always supported his grandchildren in their various activities.

A memorial service to celebrate Rod's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Olive Branch Community Church in Firebaugh. Reception following at the Community Center located at the Firebaugh Rodeo Grounds.
Rod’s legacy of service, love for family and dedication to his community will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
