Rodney Joseph Osuna

Rod Osuna passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2018 in the company of his family.

He was born on January 30th, 1958, to Rupert and Terri Osuna in Fresno, CA. He was the second oldest of 4 children.

Rod was admired by his friends and family for his sense of humor, lightning quick wit, and appreciation of and involvement in the music of his time. Rod was a student of music and an accomplished musician. He was an inspiration and educator to peers and young musicians around him.

The family would like to give special thanks to St. Agnes Medical Center and Emergency Room staff, Community Regional Medical Center Subacute and Transitional Care Center, and Hinds Hospice staff. Finally, to Father Rod Craig and to Father Jesus Del Angel of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and all who have prayed for him during this difficult journey, we thank you.

Rodney was preceded in death by his older brother, Robert Anthony, and his parents. He is survived by his sister Yvonne and her son Evan, and his brother, Randy.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Peter's Cemetery on January 31st.

Remembrances may be made in memory of Rod Osuna to Hinds Hospice, or Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

At OLV almost 50 years ago, Mrs. Mosqueda said if one more person says a word she would leave the classroom. Rodney stood up and said "word". She left. Rodney was smart, quit witted and funny as hell. I'm sorry for your loss.
